One of my students is an outstanding baker and often contributes to workshops with vegan sweet treats. This was one of our favourites! Simple and delicious.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees


1/2 cup vegan butter

1 1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tsp vanilla

1/4 cup almond milk

1/4 cup applesauce

2 1/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

1 cup vegan chocolate chips


1. Blend butter and sugar until fluffy. Add vanilla, applesauce, and almond milk to blend.

2. Mix flour, salt, and baking soda together then ad to wet mixture. Stir in chocolate chips

3. Bake for 10 mins or a minute longer, until golden.
